What Half a Billion in Campaign Spending Could Have Bought

Wish there were fewer political ads? You might feel that way even more in a minute. NBC Nightly News' Brian Williams reported Thursday that spending on the presidential campaign has already crossed the half-billion dollar mark, breaking previous records for a campaign with more than two months left to go.
Just for kicks, he also broke down what else half a billion dollars will buy, including:
-Food for 9.2 million malnourished children for 50 days
-Immunizations for 29 million children for life
-Clean water for 500 million children for 40 days
-166 million anti-malarial mosquito bed nets
Then again, have you seen those ads? Some of them are pretty great.
